Mini jet boat build costs
See what goes into the finished boat, explore sample parts costs and understand the expenses beyond the hull kit.

What does a mini jet boat cost to build?
Your budget starts with the hull kit and the options you choose. Add the donor or engine, propulsion components, rigging and assembly work to understand the cost of the finished boat.
Start with your chosen hull kit and its selected options for the kit price, then list the parts, supplies and any services you will need:
- Hull and options: bottom thickness, hull protection, interior, windscreen and flooring.
- Power and propulsion: donor or engine, pump, intake, adapters and mounts.
- Rigging: steering, controls, fuel, electrical, cooling, ventilation and bilge systems.
- Assembly: your tools, welding supplies and other consumables, plus labor for any work you choose to hire out.
- Finishing and delivery: accessories, shipping, taxes, trailer and transport.
Keep the items included in your kit or donor separate from the items you still need to purchase. This makes it easier to compare quotes without counting components twice.
Turn the checklist into a buying plan
- Confirm the hull configuration and donor installation before buying parts that depend on them.
- For each system, record what is included, what you can reuse, what needs repair and what is still missing.
- Measure the final routes during the mock-up before ordering length-dependent cables, hoses and wiring.
- Separate one-time workshop equipment from parts that stay in the boat, and keep a reserve for repairs or changes.
For example, a bilge-pump price covers only the pump. Account for its bracket, discharge hose, through-hull outlet, connections, wiring and controls as well. The complete systems checklist helps you check each assembly.
Sample parts costs: $669.25
These selected rigging parts and an emergency paddle total $669.25 USD. This is a partial parts list, not the cost of a complete boat or a complete rigging package. These are examples from Nano build planning. Check current supplier prices and the specification of each component for your own installation.

Parts and work that are easy to overlook
- Small connections: cable ends, seals, hose clamps, terminals, grommets, connectors, brackets and fasteners.
- Donor repairs: engine diagnostics, pump wear parts, shaft seals, damaged wiring and missing controls.
- Installation work: shaft machining, adapters, mounts, alignment, tank fabrication and system testing.
- Workshop consumables: filler wire or rods, shielding gas, cleaning supplies, abrasives, drill bits, taps and suitable sealants.
- Getting to the water: delivery and unloading, trailer setup, inspections, paperwork and required equipment.
